What is a Solid Insulated (SIS) RMU Core Unit?

A Solid Insulated Switchgear (SIS) Core Unit is a highly integrated electrical module where all high-voltage live parts—including the vacuum interrupter, main conducting circuit, and isolating switches—are encapsulated entirely within solid APG epoxy resin. The exterior is coated with a grounded semi-conductive shielding layer. This makes the unit 100% SF6-Free, completely touch-safe, and IP67 submersible, ensuring immunity to dust, flooding, high altitudes, and extreme pollution without the need for a pressurized gas tank.
