Complete range of medium voltage switching devices including Vacuum Circuit Breakers (VCB), Load Break Switches (LBS), and Earthing Switches. Certified for high mechanical endurance and reliable fault interruption.
Reliable power distribution hinges on precise control and rapid fault clearance. Our Switching Devices category offers a comprehensive portfolio of medium voltage (MV) components designed for 12kV, 24kV, and 40.5kV networks. From the robust arc-quenching capabilities of our Vacuum Circuit Breakers (VCB) to the safety-critical isolation provided by Disconnectors and Earthing Switches, every device is engineered to meet IEC 62271 standards. Whether for primary distribution substations or secondary ring main units, our equipment ensures operational safety, minimized downtime, and superior electrical endurance.
Comprehensive MV solutions tailored to your needs. We offer AIS (KYN28) for standard maintenance-friendly applications, GIS for compact protection in harsh environments (SF6-sealed), and SIS for eco-friendly, maintenance-free solid insulation.
Versatile switching for ring main units. Available in Air-blast (for AIS) and SF6 gas (for GIS) types, our LBS units ensure safe load breaking and are often combined with fuses for transformer protection.
The core protection unit. We provide distinct VCB types to match the switchgear above: Withdrawal VCBs (for KYN28 AIS) and Fixed/Side-mounted VCBs (for GIS & SIS), all featuring E2/M2 class endurance and reliable short-circuit interruption.
Visual safety isolation. Specifically designed for AIS cabinets (GN series) and GIS tanks (3-position disconnectors), ensuring a physical, visible gap during maintenance procedures.
Essential for personnel safety. Our earthing switches feature high short-circuit making capacity, rapidly grounding the circuit to protect operators from accidental energization during maintenance.

A VCB is designed to interrupt massive short-circuit fault currents (e.g., 25kA, 31.5kA) to protect the system. An LBS is designed only to switch normal load currents and cannot break short-circuit currents (though it can close onto them). LBS is often used with fuses for protection.
Absolutely Not. A Disconnector (Isolator) has no arc-quenching capability. It must only be operated when the circuit has practically negligible current (No-Load). Operating it under load will cause a dangerous arc flash. Our switchgear includes mechanical interlocks to prevent this error.
Our VCBs are "Maintenance-Free" for the vacuum interrupter itself. The operating mechanism is rated for 10,000 to 30,000 operations (M2 Class). We generally recommend a visual inspection and simple lubrication check every 5 years or 2,000 operations, depending on environmental conditions.
Our Earthing Switches are designed with a specific Short-Circuit Making Capacity (e.g., 31.5kA / 50kA peak). This means if an operator accidentally grounds a live circuit, the switch can withstand the electromagnetic forces without exploding, protecting the operator.
Standard switchgear is rated for up to 1000m. For altitudes above 1000m (e.g., 2000m or 3000m), we offer High-Altitude Versions with strengthened external insulation and adjusted vacuum interrupters to prevent external flashover. Please specify altitude when ordering.
