Air or vacuum insulated switches designed for integration into secondary distribution cabinets (like XGN series). Perfect for indoor transformer protection.
Pole-mounted switches featuring robust silicone rubber insulators. Weather-proof, UV-resistant, and ready for SCADA-enabled smart grid automation.
Highly compact, gas-insulated modules utilizing SF6 for superior arc-quenching. The standard choice for assembling space-saving Ring Main Units (RMUs).

Regardless of the environment (Indoor/Outdoor) or insulating medium (Air/SF6), all Load Break Switches operate on the same fundamental safety principles.
The Transformer Solution: To provide full protection, an LBS is integrated with High Rupturing Capacity (HRC) fuses. The fuse clears the short-circuit current in milliseconds, while its striker pin triggers the LBS to open all three phases simultaneously, preventing single-phase damage.
When a severe short-circuit occurs downstream, the HRC fuse elements rapidly melt and vaporize, cutting off the peak current within milliseconds.
The melting of the fuse wire triggers a spring-loaded striker pin located at the end of the fuse, pushing it outward with significant force.
The striker pin directly hits the mechanical tripping linkage of the LBS mechanism, forcing all three phases of the switch to open simultaneously.
Indoor LBS relies on atmospheric air or vacuum for insulation, generally making it larger but very easy to maintain and completely SF6-free. SF6 LBS encapsulates the contacts in a sealed gas tank, offering superior dielectric strength which allows for extremely compact designs ideal for Ring Main Units (RMU), but requires specialized gas handling.
Yes, our Outdoor LBS series can be supplied as purely manual units (operated via a hook stick) or equipped with motorized mechanisms and RTU controllers for seamless integration into smart grid SCADA systems for remote operation.
For Indoor and SF6 LBS, an integrated earth switch with mechanical interlocks is standard, ensuring operator safety during maintenance. For Outdoor LBS, earth switches are optional and configurable based on specific grid line requirements.
